Congratulations to all three
Next month’s contest is already up. It’s themed
Plushies in Costume and rules are as follows,
- Must be plush! Can be a plushie, keyring, pillow, phone charm, anything as long as it’s plush!
- You can make ANY type of costumed plushie, so long as it’s not a famous character. For example, you may make a plushie dressed as a vampire, but it must NOT resemble a famous vampire e.g. Saya from “Blood : The Last Vampire." You may make a plushie dressed as a witch, but it must NOT resemble a famous witch e.g. Chocolat from "Sugar Sugar Rune".
- Your plush does not have to be human, or dressed human. Any plant, animal, or rock is ok as long as it is in costume.
- The plush must be one that you have made.
- The plush can be one that you have made before as long as the costume is new.
- No gore or hard violence, again this club and contest are for everyone
- All entries will be posted in the club journal
- MEMBERS ONLY
- Everyone who doesn’t enter will be asked to vote BY NOTE!! Journal posts are no longer registered as a way of voting.
- Winners will be chosen by voting by your fellow club members

Magicalgirlsakura1. A quick introduction of yourself?
Hello everyone! My name is Danay Wilson. I'm from California and I have been plushing for less than a year now.
2. What got you into making plushies?
Well, I remember back in 2000 how much I wanted to make some soft dolls of my own, but I had no idea how to sew, plus I had no sewing machine. A few monthes later, I got a sewing machine for my birthday. After awhile, I tried to make some plushies of my own, but I had little success with the results. After visiting DeviantArt for the first time and trying
BabyLondonStar's human base pattern, I began to make more plushies.
3. What are some of your favourite Plushies on or off DA?
There are so many that I like! I think my favourites are the ones based from "Home Movies" and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends".
4. What are you working on at the moment?
I am not working on any plushies now, but I plan to try my hand at plushing some of the unsung heroes. I really want to continue on with various creatures and monsters that go bump in the night, too.
5. Any tips for fellow Plushers?
Yes! Don't give up. If you enjoy what you are doing, then continue. Don't be afraid to sew or create something new, you'll never know what the results will be until you give it a shot.
6. Completely random comment?
Peace, Love and Happiness!

Magicalgirlsakura1. A quick introduction of yourself?
Hi. I’m moira and have been crafting dolls pretty much my whole life. I find them a perfect way to swallow up my free time.
2. What got you into making plushies?
I started making plushies and other dolls because I had lots of free time after school and I wanted something that was unique to me. Doll making just seemed to fit that for me.
3. What are some of your favourite Plushies on or off DA?
Well I don’t really have a favourite plushie or plushie artist. I like all different types, sizes and styles. What really draws me into a plushie is detail and how creative it is.
4. What are you working on at the moment?
Halloween dolls
, more Felt plushies, and a few Anime dolls.
5. Any tips for fellow Plushers?
Make it your own. Patterns are great but don’t feel constricted to it. It is ok to go outside the pattern lines so to speak. Also the more you make then the better you get. Don’t expect it to be perfect first few times.
6. Completely random comment?
Keep the peace and keep on plushing.

Tutorial(s) of the Month’s tutorial <a href=”
pheleon.deviantart.com/art/How…>How to paint Plushie Eyes is so very simple to follow and the result is excellent, you’d never know they had been painted
’s tutorial <a href=”
sweetplushiecake.deviantart.co…>How to make Toes is very easy to follow and could also be applied to hands to form cute little figures
Tip of the Month Still not too sure about making a pattern? Head to your local library and see what they have in the way of doll making books. Often books have patterns for the body and clothes in them so that you the reader can make them or adjust the pattern to your liking and you’ll find a lot of patterns are featured around fairy tale characters or nursery rhyme.
